Featuring Cochlear Implants:
A cochlear implant is a hearing option available to those children and adults who are u
 nable to benefit from traditional hearing aids. It is approved by the FDA for use in patients even as young as 12 months old with severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. It can be used by patients who have been recently impaired or those who have had a hearing loss since birth. According to Dr. Vincent Ostrowski of the Midwest Ear Institute, recent technologic innovations have dramatically improved the function and appearance of cochlear implants.

Our physicians, Dr. George W.Hicks and Dr. Vincent Ostrowski, are board certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and further specialize in otology and neurotology. Together, they have over 50 years of combined experience in diagnosing and treating ear, hearing, and balance disorders. We also have four audiologists with Masters Degrees on our staff who perform hearing and balancing tests and dispense hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
